Wigan Gold cup 2011 – 2nd

Due to a full Whilton Mill grid, we decided to stay at home and race at MBKC Gold Cup Meeting. Jack qualified 2nd and then had a 5th and 7th in the heats with temp issues. A carb change for the final saw a good run, in a close race and 2nd was the result.

Super 1 clay pigeon

A weekend that was hard. Set up was hard to find and a general lack of pace in the kit, made it hard work. 10th overall was good considering and this scored enough points to be back in the top 15th in the championship table.

FKS Genk

Overall an interesting weekend. A weekend where he looked quick and drove well, although iincidents at the starts stopped his potential. Plus side….made A finals after being last after the first corner in a couple of heats. Rd 7 drove from the jack to 7th and knocked off on the final lap DNF. Rd8. Drove from last after a first corner incident, made up a lot of ground to get 14th. Reasonable points scored on a difficult weekend….

Clay Pigeon July – Fastest lap

For the first time at the track Jack did well. Within 20 laps he was within a couple of tenths of the pace. He improved all weekend andnow learns tracks very fast most of the time.
Solid heats and 6th in the final with fastest lap was a good effort. Another trophy made the long drive home a little easier. Well done.

Larkhall Super 1

A mixed weekend. A few issues with carburation held him back a little and an engine switch accidentally caught with an elbow and a non finish, saw a mixed weekend. That saw Jack just trying to get some o.k. points to keep his momentum.

Qualified 17th

Heats 14th, 16th,

Final 26th Non finish

Main Final 15th

GYG FKS rd5 rd6

Jack seems to really enjoy the FKS championship. He likes the competition, the feeling it’s different and the chance to shine. I headed over a little nervous, after to recent visits to GYG did not go perfectly. Although Jack headed over ready to give his best. Friday saw him near the top of the time sheets in his group consistently. Rd 5 on Sat, An accident in qualifying saw Jack with a sore arm, a bent axle and 18th in group. Strong drives in the heats saw us 11th for the final. Jack drove a good race to 7th and had a good day bagging some good points. Although, a dead arm made racing even a question mark! Pain killers and some ibuprofen from Lee Caroline kept Jack going.
Rd 6 on Sun, Strong qualifying, 6th overall. Good heats saw us 11th for the final. Pain killers and an opportunistic drive saw Jack 7th. This then became a podium and 6th after an exclusion. Another trophy and Jacks Kimi impression whilst being interviewed….
Strong weekend and more points.
